The problem
Diagonal cracks appeared in several columns and the school needed to know whether it was safe to keep using.
What I did
Carried out a visual condition survey and mapped the crack pattern
Checked the column capacity against gravity and seismic demand
Recommended a concrete jacketing retrofit for the affected columns with drawings
Outcome
The school received a clear assessment and a buildable retrofit scheme it could budget and schedule.
