The problem
A low-lying stretch flooded during heavy rain because the existing canal was undersized and silted.
What I did
Ran the hydraulic calculation to size the canal and culvert for the design storm
Detailed the reinforced concrete sections and prepared the construction drawings
Prepared the quantity take-off and bill of materials for tendering
Outcome
The improved drainage carried the design flow and the recurring street flooding was resolved.
